The Jewelry Manufacturing Facility p2 Award was recently received from the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority for the following Best Management Practices:
- Maintaining Records of Recycled Materials and/or Waste Disposal
- Managing Waste Investment Properly
- Having a Spill Control Plan in Place
- Practicing Good Housekeeping
- Managing Spent Acid Pickle Properly
- Settling Wastewater from the Tumbling Process

We compete against many Asian manufacturers with few labor and environmental standards. One of the reasons we purchase supplies from US vendors when at all possible is because we can be assured that they must at least meet minimum requirements to protect both workers and the environment. We encourage you to do the same. Investigate the origin of the products you purchase.

In the Charm Factory office, we've also been doing many of the simple things that you can do at home or work - recycling cans and bottles from the kitchen area, shredding and recycling junk mail and paper, switching to compact fluorescent lights and recycled paper, and making changes in our invoicing process to use less paper.
